Want to co-develop innovative concepts for agri & food?
The 100 first-stage winners of the EU funded KATANA Accelerator are looking for innovators to join them in the development of new business concepts for the European agri & food ecosystem! To facilitate this process. KATANA is organizing the ‘Agtech and Foodtech Matchmaking Events’. These events will stimulate exchange between single entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs and support participants in finding the right partners for bringing innovative product or service ideas to life. Here, you may grow your network, learn more about the latest trends in agrifood, or enter in dialogue about ideas, visions and potential collaboration spaces.

INNO-4-AGRIFOOD consortium presents first version of its novel innovation support services
INNO-4-AGRIFOOD aims at enhancing the service portfolio and skills of innovation intermediaries and SME support networks across Europe by providing them with a blend of demand-driven services and tools. In this context, the INNO-4-AGRIFOOD consortium has started testing, in real life, a first version of its novel offer which aims to provide innovation support consultants with a set of services and tools that can help their agri & food SME clients in the EU to tap into their underexploited innovation potential.
This offer of INNO-4-AGRIFOOD has been co-designed with representatives from key stakeholder groups in the agri & food ecosystem (including industry, academia and innovation intermediaries) and has been developed according to their needs and expectations through an interactive co-creation process.
E-learning program launched!
The INNO-4-AGRIFOOD consortium has deployed one of its major value propositions by launching an e-training for innovation support consultants who want to improve their service portfolio targeting clients in agri & food. INNO-4-AGRIFOOD has followed four key principles in the development of the e-learning program: namely addressing the needs and demands of agri & food SMEs as well as innovation intermediaries; following a holistic, while at the same time pragmatic approach to collaborative innovation; combining theory and practice; and involving key stakeholders in a collaborative and interactive manner.
Smart tools to assist delivery of innovation support services
The INNO-4-AGRIFOOD consortium has presented a first version of its web and mobile applications, that we dub as Smart Tools, which aim to facilitate the efficient delivery of the novel innovation support services developed by the project and which can be freely used by both innovation consultants as well as agri & food SMEs. The smart tools have been co-designed along with several agri & food stakeholders, with the aim to offer meaningful and easy to use functionalities; not overlapping but complementary to the tools already at the disposal of agri & food innovation consultants.
Online collaboration to nurture and facilitate innovation: insights into the European agri & food value chain
To deliver a relevant and demand-driven value proposition to our target groups, we had to go into the field to do some research. In the beginning of the project we did research into the European agri & food ecosystem. The overarching objective of the value chain analysis we performed, was to identify value chain areas in which agri & food companies stand to benefit the most from our services and tools. More specifically, we tried to shed ample light on the widely diverse and complex agri & food ecosystem by mapping and analyzing its landscape and dynamics.
